About Lisa Fitzgerald

Lisa Fitzgerald is a practising, dual-qualified corporate lawyer, specialising in technology, media, telecommunications, privacy and intellectual property. Lisa advises at the forefront of emerging technologies including the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, crypto, stable coins and other digital and tokenised assets.

Lisa was admitted to practice in Australia in 2000 and in the United Kingdom in 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws, graduating with first class honours in Law from the University of Melbourne, completing a semester of her law degree at the University of Amsterdam, and has a Certificate in Blockchain Strategy from Oxford University. Lisa is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and sits on various committees, boards and State Councils, including the Law Council of Australia's Media and Communications Committee. Lisa was an Associate to former High Court judge, Ken Hayne AC QC. Lisa is a co-owner of a software-as-a-service start-up and was a Finalist in the AmCham Alliance Awards 2022 in the Digital Economy category, which recognises pathfinders in key industries for future investment.

Lisa coined the term 'Splitchain' in March 2022 and published her White paper in October 2022. Using Splitchain, legal expertise and commerciality, Lisa advises corporates on the development of digital assets, tokenised assets, digital collectibles, digital transformation projects, data governance, AI, DAOs and more. Lisa is also an experienced public speaker and her purpose is to empower executives, creatives, innovators and investors with the knowledge needed to embrace new technology.
